About Rochester College:

Rochester College is located on an 81-acre campus in Rochester Hills, Michigan. The college offers 43 different majors including accounting, elementary education, health sciences, and sports management.

The Situation:

Rochester College employs numerous student workers, many of whom didn’t have bank accounts through which they could receive direct deposit. When paper checks weren’t providing the level of convenience the students needed, Rochester College decided to give them an option that would allow easy access to their hard-earned money.

Say Goodbye to Office Expenses

Ginny May, Rochester College Director of HR, said “There were huge fees associated with paper checks. Twice a month, we would ship the checks to our office via FedEx and it became too expensive. SOLE has completely removed that cost.”

At Your Convenience

Since partnering with SOLE, Rochester College student workers can easily access their funds. “When paper checks were delivered to our office, sometimes student workers wouldn’t even come pick them up. They were losing out on their earnings because they didn’t have a convenient way to receive their money,” says May, “with the SOLE Paycard, payday is a breeze!”

Paving the Way for the Paperless Trees Program

It’s because of clients like Rochester College that SOLE’s Paperless Trees Program even exists. SOLE recognized that clients were working hard to achieve 100% direct deposit and wanted to say “thank you” in a meaningful way. For every client that goes paperless, SOLE plants a grove of trees in their name. By going ‘green’ with their payroll, companies like Rochester College save time and money while helping make the world a better place.
